Mr. Rajen Ramnath is a prominent community leader of the Surinamese Hindustani Community of the Netherlands. In 1969 he immigrated to the Netherlands from Surinam. For past 40+ years he is active in supporting different issues related to the Hindustani community. Rajen Ramnath had and still has a very important role in anchoring the Hindu values and traditions in Dutch society. For his community related activities he got a Knighthood (Ridder in the Orde van Oranje Nassau) from her majesty the Queen. In his professional life he is an Assistant-accountant and is associated with an Accountants Office in The Hague.
Mr. Ramnath stood at the cradle of important institutions such as SRS, HIMOS, OHM, EEKTA, PAL, Hindu Council Netherlands and a few Hindu schools and Hindu mandirs. He was a former president of Foundation EEKTA and OHM.
At present Mr. Ramnath is the President of Hindu Education Foundation [De Stichting Hindoe Onderwijs], President of The Association Sanatan Hindu Parishad Netherlands [ De Vereniging Sanatan Hindoe Parishad Nederland [SHPN)], Pal [Stichting Platform Allochtone Ouderen ] and Treasurer of Federation for Indian Diaspora in Europe [FIDE].
