Drs. Indira Tewari (26) did her Masters (doctorandus) Degree in Medicine from Leiden University Medical Center, at the University of Leiden. During her study she did an extra internship at the department of neurology at the University Medical Center Hamburg – Eppendorf. She did academic research in the correlation between migraine and depression at the neurology department of LUMC. She is the Secretary-General of GOPIO the Netherlands, member of the Amsterdam Chapter, and volunteers in organizing activities. She also is an active member of KNMG (Nederlandse Maatschappij tot bevordering der Geneeskunst).
She used to be a mentor for first year medical students at the University of Leiden.
During her study she also did extensive voluntary work for socially deprived students such as the institute “Stichting de Witte Tulp” in Amsterdam. Stichting de Witte Tulp received the price “Appeltje van Oranje” from our current Queen Maxima. She was an active member of HSFN (Hindu Students Forum Netherlands) where she actively engaged in various sewa related activites in the annual sewa week. Before joining the university she was an active board member of the youth council of Hoogheemraadschap Rijnland in Leiden.
